“We take vision and turn it into reality. That’s where I get my greatest satisfaction.

“At first we talk with our clients about their idea. What they have to work with and where they want to go with their project. Many of them are on a tight budget so we’re here to guide them, to help them get the most out of their project. We talk about funding, do feasibility studies, and discuss construction costs.

“I work to build bridges between all the parties: codes, zoning, contractors, carpenters, electricians. I’ve always had a passion for design drawing. In fact, I was taking drafting courses in the 9th grade and interned at an architectural firm in downtown Buffalo during high school. My father was a draftsman for Westinghouse, so it’s in my blood. I love to take a problem and help my client realize their dream.”

Dan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990. His career as an architect began soon after. He worked as a landscape designer and then as Senior Draftsman and Architect Intern at Wendall Engineers, P.C. in Buffalo, NY. There he worked on projects at the State University at Buffalo, the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge Commission, and a waterline project at the Town of Wilson.

In 1996, he moved to Florida and worked as a Job Captain at Flad & Associates in Gainesville. He led and participated in all phases of the project cycle, managing projects up to 75,000 square feet and $11 million. In 2000, he joined Harza Engineering in Utica, NY and when they shut their doors he went on to another Engineering and Architectural firm in the Central New York area.

Dan has provided project management, construction administration, cost estimating and design expertise for a wide range of projects. He worked throughout Central NY on projects at Cathedral Corporation, SUNY IT, MVCC, and the REACH Microenterprise Center in Rome.

Dan served four years as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps as a demolition and anti-armor team leader. He was honorably discharged in 1986. He’s an FAA certified private pilot and is a member of the American Institute of Architecture.

He’s also a member of the Firebirds, a radio controlled airplane club. In the winter, he coaches youth hockey and specializes in teaching goaltending. In the summer, if he’s not flying real or radio controlled airplanes, you might catch him out on the golf course. Dan lives in New Hartford, NY with his wife Sharon and two children.
